Tyres for XR2 Stock Hatch
I've been sent a text by the Dan the new owner of my Stock Hatch XR2 regarding tyres. As my fingers are too big for txtng. i thought I'd give a fuller answer on here.
I got a set of new full tread A539's from George Polley Motorsport at a cost of about £35 per tyre to use as wets last year. I've now transfered them to RS Alloys for the locost. They are still very much unused. Yoko A539s are fairly good in the wet even part worn.
Would suggets for the XR2 replacing the fronts but pay the extra £5-£8 per tyre & get them scrubbed to 5mm (running with full tread in the dry will lose too much grip) If you want wets (only needed in monsoon conditions) get two full treaded tyres & fit them on the front when needed. dont need to worry too much about the rear as in general it just follows
George Polley Site (He will deliver for a small fee)

Good luck for the season Dan (Not long till Mallory now)
When are you out testing next?
